Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority at The Salty Axe. Every session begins with a full safety briefing and guided instruction from our experienced coaches. As long as you listen, follow the rules and don’t try to re-enact a Viking battle…you’ll be sweet.

What is the minimum age for axe throwing at The Salty Axe?

Sorry to be the bearer or bad news, but you must be 16+ years of age to throw an axe with us. Insurance requirements are stringent and we value safety over everything else.

What should I wear?

Fully enclosed footwear is an absolute must! (no exceptions). Wear something casual or dress up in your best Viking or lumberjack outfit!

Is your venue licensed?

Hurling a sharp object and drinking? Yikes! 🫤 The consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited inside The Salty Axe venue. For any drinks and food packages you do book with us, you're able to use them immediately after your axe throwing session at Aquavue next door or in our licensed areas. All alcoholic drinks are to be consumed within the licensed area.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Gift vouchers available online and in person. Visit our gift vouchers page here to purchase online, or pop into The Salty Axe Thursday - Sunday between 11am and 8pm.

Do we get a lane to ourselves?

Accepted Answer

We allocate up to 3 people per lane at any one time. If you're in a group booking, lane allocation will be shared. This ensures we can host group bookings and solo throwers alike, all under the one roof, while staffing appropriately for safety and the wellbeing of all patrons.

We have 6 professional lanes in total, allowing us to accommodate larger group sizes.

You'll receive a 15 minute safety briefing for you and your group. From there, you'll be straight into a full hour of axe throwing.

You can book directly via our website! Choose your experience, select a date, time and your number of participants and you're almost ready to go!

Can we book parties & events at The Salty Axe?
